Being authentically you means embracing your true self without the pressure to conform or fear of judgment. It’s about being honest with yourself and others, staying true to your values, and aligning your actions with who you genuinely are.

I recently attended the Authentically You event on 5th October 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya; this experience was curated by Elite Women KE , a community founded by Sally Mwasaru and Christine Muthoni. Guests were encouraged to dress in one of four colors: Green symbolizing growth and harmony, Yellow representing confidence and positivity, Orange for creativity and passion, or Pink for love and compassion.

I picked Green, which represented growth, renewal, and harmony.

The event had three sessions:

1. Tea Tales, a unique beverage intelligence session with live tea tasting by Melvins Tea . The session covered the art and science behind tea, various tea varieties, brewing techniques, and flavors that match different moods.

2. The second session was a Taking Stock panel conversation with inspirational panellists:

· Flora Mutahi, Founder & CEO of Melvins Teas.
